Congress has been voicing its concern that another unemployment benefits extension would cost too much money to pass. However, is that the real reason why Congress is hesitating to pass bill HR4213? Or is the reason due more to attitudes about unemployed individuals being lazy bums?

It is assumed that a college degree will lead to a high-paying job and a better life. If that is the case, why is the level of unemployed college graduates higher than the level of unemployed high school dropouts?

The House of Representatives just passed the 2010 Senate jobs bill, which will provide incentives to employers who hire unemployed workers. Is the bill worth its $15 billion price tag?

As of October 2, 2009, the U.S. has 9.8% unemployment. And that’s not even counting those folks who are under-employed, or who have simply given up on finding work. Gee, weren’t government bailouts of big banks supposed to stop this from happening?
